I have finally made a decision. I'm taking the plunge. This is big people. I've been thinking about this for months. I bought J some bright red shoes the other day (see last post) and I decided to make her Easter dress match these shoes. When I saw this fabric on fabricworm.com I knew exactly what I wanted to do. It's called Meadow from from Leah Duncan's new line.
It has red and mustard in the print (so it will match the new shoes really well). This will be the fabric I'll use for the collar, bow and piping.
And this will be the rest of the dress.
Robert Kaufman linen in denim. Or I might use a dark blue Chambray instead, or maybe the linen. Ok I guess I haven't quite decided.
I think it will look great together. Unique but not so much going on that people think it's cray cray. I'm so excited to get started!
We're getting ready for Easter in more ways then one over here.
I've always wanted to make one of these Easter Egg trees. I just found some branches while running on a nearby trail and spray painted them. I probably looked ridiculous coming home with 4 big branches perched on the running stroller, but it was worth it.
I found these vases at Hobby Lobby a year ago on sale. I thought about leaving them their original creamy ivory color but the idea to do them in a robin egg blue struck, and I love them so much more now.
I also hand sewed those little birds. Yeah, I'm not that awesome at hand stitching, but they look ok from far away : )
I love Easter! It's probably my favorite holiday (unless it's December, then Christmas is my favorite holiday). I think I'm especially excited this year because Jane will be old enough to actually participate in the holiday activities. I have some epic plans that involve a really cool easter egg hunt, and egg dying a month from now. And by really cool easter egg hunt, I just mean a normal easter egg hunt in our backyard. But I love that I have a kid old enough to hunt for eggs! So that makes it really cool.
Hope it's as nice a day wherever you are! It's beautiful in GA today. I think the warm might finally be here to stay!
