I've been working on a frozen fever Anna dress for J. I've come to terms with the fact that I enjoy sewing unnecessary costumes for my daughter. I think it's the challenge aspect. I like the challenge of trying to recreate each component of the costume. Anna's Frozen Fever dress is definitely a challenge but it's turning out nice, and I will be done with it in time for a trip to Disneyland coming up. We're going to California in the near future and I can't wait. My sister and bro-in-law live there so we'll get to see them. My brother will be bringing his brand new fiance'. My parents are of course going to come and it will be for an entire week. It will be great!
Since the Anna dress is a little involved I took a quick break to whip up a St. Patricks day skirt for J and I don't want her to get pinched! When I finished it I wasn't in love and I thought maybe it would just be a skirt she could wear at home. But, I think with the top and boots she's wearing in the pictures below it looks pretty cute. She LOVES it. It's nice to have another item in her closet that she'll always wear. She's kind of picky these days, especially if I suggest the clothes.
Sorry for the wrinkly skirt. She had worn it for most of the day when we took these.
I pieced that strip in the skirt with bits of fabric leftover from a quilt I've been making for over a year. I think I started it when J was still in a crib ha! I'm not much of a quilter. It's not even a big quilt, I just don't really enjoy the process for some reason. I really like the fabrics that I choose for that quilt so it was nice to be able to use them in something else.
